We had a very nervous, anxious Labrador that was reactive to other dogs as well as a nervous border terrier and with Alice’s help and techniques we now have much calmer dogs who are a lot happier and not as anxious or reactive. Alice has been just what I needed to enjoy my dog walking again. I would not hesitate in recommending Alice if you need any help with your dog.

If you are looking for a dog trainer Alice is the best! She helped us better understand our little cockapoo and how nervous she is. After just one session she was like a different dog. Meg (our dog) is so much happier in herself and a lot less nervous. Since the training she hasn’t been growling or backing herself into a corner and is getting a lot better with resource guarding.

Alice came to help us with our anxious Cocker Spaniel cross, Fiddle. Her gentle approach really helped Fiddle to feel more at ease around our 3 young children and to cope better with the day to day stresses of living in a busy family home. Alice was fantastic at involving the children in Fiddle's training (when appropriate) and helping them to understand how to read Fiddles stress signals, so that they could give her space when she needed it. Alice has been working with us over the past couple of months in relation to our lurcher's reactiveness when out on walks, settle mat training and recall. Alice has a wonderful rapport with dogs and our boy absolutely loves her, which helps when she is demonstrating the training techniques that we need to adopt. She is patient and encouraging and is always available between sessions to offer further guidance and support if required. Our dog engages really well with the techniques Alice uses and we now feel much more confident on his walks after just a few sessions. If you're looking for an excellent dog trainer, look no further than Alice at Canine Hearts and Minds. Her vast experience and brilliant ways with dogs are evident from the get go. Our young dogue de Bordeaux, Mabel, adores Alice and is responding really well to her methods. We've been working on recall, settle mat and heel walking recently and Mabel is doing so well thanks to Alice who has done a great job of helping us see things from Mabel's perspective. Another one of Alice's talents is to make sure that everyone in the family is doing the same thing, no mean feat in this case! She is very good at instilling confidence in all of us in how we handle Mabel and how to keep up the consistency. She is always happy to answer any questions that may arise between sessions which is brilliant.

Alice is such an amazing trainer. Very few people are willing to work with my deaf, reactive American Bulldog, but Alice has always been amazing. I’ve learnt so much from her and she’s always gone above and beyond to support us on our journey. She is amazingly kind and compassionate with dogs and their humans and really makes a difference.

Alice has helped my Dalmatian Juniper flourish into a wonderful dog. They are a very sensitive breed so positive reward training really is the best way to go! Fantastic advise on how to keep this busy breed active inside and outside the house. I can’t wait for further training and seeing if we can get Juniper to do stand up paddle boarding with me
