About Canine Hearts and Minds
Alice
Founder & Head Trainer
Alice started working with dogs when she was just 13 years old, which has now led to 20 years of experience. She has a huge passion for training and helping families build relationships with their beloved pets.

Over her career of working with dogs, she has invested a lot of time learning about dogs and training to see her list of qualifications please click here.

Before Canine Hearts and Minds was founded, Alice worked in a rescue centre and boarding kennels for 10 years. She has worked with many different breeds with varied backgrounds and with numerous different behaviour issues and enjoyed every minute of working with these dogs.
ashlie
Trainer
Ashlie has been assisting with classes since February 2023. She started volunteering walking dogs at
the local pound in 2012. She was trained by the Dogs Trust to microchip in 2013 and helped organise
and run free community microchipping events in the lead up to them becoming compulsory for
dogs.
In 2013 she adopted her first dog, Squirtle, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and has been attending
workshop, seminars and similar since (where she met Alice in 2022). If you happen to speak to Ashlie
about Squirtle, you may get a sense of what a character she is! After Squirtle retired from her main
sport (canicross) during COVID, she adopted a 2 nd dog, Theo, a border collie cross. Her own dogs and
those who attend classes continue to teach her about dogs, humans, and herself!
Ashlie has a MSc in Psychology and was a triathlon coach at a community club for over 10 years. She
is very much enjoying the new challenge of helping coach people to teach/coach their dogs.
